Instead of self-harming why not try some of these...
Trying screaming,
Try crying,
Try having a cold shower.
Try creating a mental 'safe place'.
Try biting on something like a lemon’
Try exercising, going for a walk/ run.
Try hitting a pillow/punch bag,
Try listening to loud music…etc rock,
Try dropping ice into a bath to give a little pain to skin,
Try taking a cold/hot shower.
Try talking to someone.
Try rubbing body lotion on the areas you want to harm.
Try putting a rubber band around a wrist then when you want to cut just pull it back and release, this will sting the wrist, taking your mind off self harming
Try keeping a diary of your feelings
Call a friend/family members,
Try taking deep breaths, in and out
Search internet or library for interesting things,
Play a game,
Watch favourite films or programme,
Try drawing/painting,
Try drawing out your dream home
Try crunching digestive biscuits up in hand,
Try making a list of things (e.g. things you would like for x-mas)
Do crosswords in magazines,
Do a reward chart (mark off every day with a smile if you don’t self harm or sad one if
you self harm)
Get clay and mould something, than squash it back to a ball,
